THE LOCAL MARKET

The arrival of spring has indeed brought with it an anticipated increase in new listings. REIWA is reporting there were 3,637 properties for sale on 1 September, an increase of 5 per cent from the previous week. There was a notable 22 per cent increase in vacant land listings and a 3.3 per cent rise in house listings. While this is an 11.4 per cent increase from four weeks ago, it is remains 29.1 per cent lower than the same period last year.

THE RENTAL MARKET

In the rental market, REIWA is reporting 2,190 properties available for rent last week, a drop of 1.5 per cent from last week. While rental listings have increased by 32.4 per cent compared to last year, they are down 13 per cent over the past four weeks, reflecting a recent tightening of the market.
