From 1 July 2026, real estate agencies across Australia have new legal obligations under Australia’s Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) laws. As part of these requirements, we need to collect and verify additional information from buyers and sellers before or during the settlement process.
These checks are not personal. They are a legal requirement that applies across the property industry and are designed to help prevent fraud, money laundering, terrorism financing and the misuse of Australia’s property system.
To fulfil our legal obligations, White House Property Partners has engaged First AML, a specialist Customer Due Diligence (CDD) provider, to securely manage the identity verification process on our behalf. First AML will securely manage the identity verification process on our behalf.
First AML will email you a link to an electronic verification form which you will need to complete online promptly to avoid settlement delays. You will be asked to provide information to confirm your name, date of birth and address.
In the case of Companies or Trusts, the Directors, Shareholders, Trustees, and Non discretionary Trust Beneficiaries may also need to provide this information. If a Trust is involved with the transaction, the Trust Deed will need to be provided.
In some cases, additional documentation such as evidence of source of funds or source of wealth may be required under legislation requirements.
How Will My Information Be Used?
Your information will be used for the sole purpose of conducting CDD and identity verification. Your information will remain confidential and will not be shared outside of First AML or White House Property Partners without your consent.
Already Completed Verification?
If you have previously completed identity verification through First AML, please let us know. With your consent, First AML may be able to reuse your existing verification, saving you the time of repeating the process.
